When trees yield fruits and medicinal products, they create economic opportunities for women and youth

Creating opportunities for all to drive the restoration economy
When the trees start to yield fruits, food and other medicinal products, they immediately create new economic opportunities for young people and women across these communities.
Inspired by our original pilot project, and the inaugural 5 women and 14 young people who started harvesting and processing different products for income, One Billion Trees continues to put youth and women front and center .
Thanks to our ongoing work, many young people who had migrated to urban towns and some from Libya after failing to migrate to Europe have now returned to the community and found self employment in the value chains of either producing, processing or selling natural resources.
